Good lord is this fun. There's no difference between the Io. website version and this right?

A couple of questions, what do extra bridges do? Do they stack or something? Does this leave the option of another ship in the build-space if the central one dies?

How do i increase speed? It doesn't seem like upgrading boosters do the trick.

Could fighters get a speed upgrade?

Past lvl 18, does increasing level still allow more parts?

And, is there a possibility of a fleet-building or teaming-up mechanic some point in the future?

hi, I am a uchu.io player, I love your game but I got some problem in it.
I have 5 ships, lv.10, lv.13, lv.14, lv.21 and lv.13
my all ships can‘t play zone A, how can I do?

(because zone B and zone C so few people, so bored in it.)

(and i can‘t make more ships because I already have 5 ships and it is max already)

I totally agree with Generatoror on the different points he raised. So I allow myself to put an opinion on another aspect. The construction, I think that some additional tools would be welcome.

So I'm thinking of a shortcut to upgrade an object directly to the highest possible level. It avoids spamming u for long minutes when rebuilding a ship from zero.

I also sometimes suffered from the lack of possibility to switch from build mode to upgrade mode without having to F5.

Otherwise, this little game is really fun to pass the time. The new XP x2 and PvP mode surpasses the old Duel mode, I hope it will continue to evolve in this direction, with better customizations, etc... Good luck with the rest.

Maybe more limitations? it's pretty cool to have the max capacities of the ship increase cuadratically (both the max upgrades and max ammount of stuff increasing) . But the game basically boils down to whoever has more parts (and more upgraded) wins. One really can't compete to higher level ships when the stats increase cuadratically in relation to level and the way you build the ship does not matter much. The only interesting strategy i've come up with is having a really small ship with a lot of thrusters and mini battle ships  so i can keep dodging everything while my ships slowly damage my enemy.
So far the only things discouraging you from adding as much parts as possible is energy constraints, speed and the constraints that come with leveling up. Ideally you wouldn't want the highest level ship to win every time but that's simply the case as of right now. Energy is not a problem since energy increases cuadratically and speed doesn't matter that much so really the only limitation is level. Ion cannons and are a step in the right direction since they make you think about position more than just ramming into your opponent randomly, however, it doesn't make much of a difference right now.

also, while the short description for the ship parts work great, i would like to know more about them, what's the difference for example between the 50 damage a void laser deals and the 50 damage a turret deals.

I imagine Space Arena: 1v1 Build & Fight is an inspiration  for this game but if it's not you should check it out, its pretty similar and has more interesting parts in general. If theres something i would implement from that game here it's different types of thrusters (one for rotation speed and maybe another for warp drive). You could also make it so that some weapons can't damage the ship as long as there's some ship healh. and some weapons that can only damage shields

To avoid quadratic increase, I guess i'll have to disable the ability to upgrade structures (i.e reactors/turrets, etc) except for miner + mineral storage i guess since they dont contribute much to combat. The game was inspired by cosmoteer but the severe imbalance of free for all gameplay between varying ship levels made me add a peaceful mode with opt-in 1v1 pvp. And for 1v1 pvp, i did take inspiration from space arena. And i might take up your suggestion on certain weapons being effective against shields, and structure that improve turn speed, etc. Space arena plays very much like a single player game and idle game though, and you usually lose the match if you're ship is lower level in that game (although i havent reached like very high levels yet). But i think adding more types of turrets that counters other type of turrets/build can improve the strategy aspect of the game.

Yeah i do agree that space arena is also imbalanced level wise just using it as an example for ideas.
Don't take my advise too seriously btw, do what you feel is wiser, i'm by no means an expert.
As for upgrades maybe do them so they add a slight weight and energy cost increase, that's small yet considerable enough to make you consider upgrading everything to the max as soon as you have enough money.
Another idea i had for upgrades is instead using adjacency, for example parts that give a slight damage/range/reload boost to nearby guns or likewise. Another idea but probably more complicated to implement is to make it so that upgrading a part also forces you to make the part 1 square bigger in any direction you like.
Feel free to ignore or implement my ideas by interpreting, tweaking and or/mixing them however you think feels fit.
